Purpose, People, and Product (Pt 1)

Prior to 1994, I would not have thought or uttered the words I’m about to say. I say these words today, with humility and confidence, due to a God inspired journey that began in 1994 and is still ongoing. The words; “Africa will, one day, feed the world. For this to happen, Africa must first be restored to its greatness. Furthermore, the restoration process will be led, directly and indirectly, by African Americans, supported by others. The key question: Who will control Africa after the restoration process?” Little did I know that God’s plan would include me in Africa’s restoration.
I discovered God’s Calling on my life in 1994 when I traveled to Ghana to find ways to make money. However, when my feet touched Ghana soil, God touched my heart and changed profit motive to altruism, thus the birth of Sankofa International, Inc. (Sankofa), a non-profit organization with a mission, in short, to help Africa’s needy become self-sustaining.
I received confirmation on the Calling the same journey when I met an elderly African woman living in the village of Adum Afrancho in Ghana’s Ashanti Region. Through her great grand-daughter, this woman told me a story that had been passed down through generations. In short, my being in Ghana was spiritual and connected to seven family members who came up missing four hundred years ago. Through my spirit, the spirits of these seven men, had been returned home.
This story inspired me to write the novel “When My Feet Touched the Ground—A Matriarch’s Prophecy”. It covers my first two life-changing journeys to Ghana and connects my spirit with the spirits of the seven missing sons of Adum Afrancho. This spiritual connection lays the foundation for Africa’s restoration process.
